The announcement arrived as two blog posts: one on Deno’s site signed by Ryan Dahl, and one on Cloudflare’s signed by Dahl and Kenton Varda. They describe the same event and almost the same plan. They do not describe the same consequences.

If you only read the Cloudflare post, you would not know that the Deno runtime has twelve months left. If you read both, the shape of the transaction becomes visible: a runtime with 108,720 stars is being wound down on a fixed calendar, and the repository Cloudflare is actually merging into its own stack shows 13 commits across 2 accounts on its default branch.
